As of June 2014, Temple Run and Temple Run 2 had been downloaded over 1 billion times.

Candy Crush Saga:
It is impossible for anyone to not know about this game. The reason I am making such claims is that whether you play the game or not, you might have your facebook notification page full of Candy Crush ‘give me a life’ requests. “Candy Crush Saga is a match-three puzzle video game released by King on April 12, 2012 for Facebook, and on November 14, 2012 for iOS, Android and Windows Phone smartphones,” according to Wikipedia. It has already been revised twice, once when the dreamworld sequence was added and a second time, when a sequel, Candy Crush Soda was released.

In this world of eve teasing, stalking and ugly phone calls, this app can give you some surety. Truecaller is an app that helps you show the name of the person calling you, if the number is not saved in your phone dictionary. This way you can decide whether to cut the phone or to pick it up. Truecaller was developed by True Software Scandinavia AB, founded by Alan Mamedi and Nami Zarringhalam in 2009. Initially launched for Symbian and Windows phones, later it was released for iOS and Android phones too.

When Facebook and Twitter were becoming the faces of social networking sites, Tumblr came up with something new. It is not only a microblogging platform but also a social networking website founded by David Karp and owned by Yahoo! Inc. From gifs to pictures to statuses to swapping your favourite characters; Tumblr has it all. According to Wikipedia, “As of May 1, 2015, Tumblr hosts over 234.2 million blogs.” This says it all about the growing success of Tumblr.

Quora is an easy platform for witty, curious and smart minds. If you have a question on why stars fall or on Lord of the Rings, you will find your answer on Quora. The company was founded in June 2009, and the website was made available to the public on June 21, 2010. Quora was co-founded by two former Facebook employees namely; Adam D’Angelo and Charlie Cheever. The Quora website and app are doing a great business and with word of mouth publicity, and is expected to grow even more.

You might be wondering why does the subtitle of google reads google only and not search engine. Well, don’t we all believe that google in itself, is a category and a brand? I will have to search in google itself. And yet here are some satisfactory figures for you:

  • Google handles more than three billion searches each day.
  • As of February 2015, it is the most used search engine, in U.S.A and is dominating 64.5% market share.

Google makes all kinds of changes and improvements to make its users loyal and to give them a happy user experience.
